blue mountains.

a paradise out of the city.

Just right next to Sydney back from the sea into the country are the Blue Moutains.

The Blue Mountains are green hills with stunning stone formations, many waterfalls and a lot of canyons. Follow some walks and you get right into them.

When I traveled the Blue Mountains it was almost the end of the australian summer in 2011 and it was raining a lot. But that was okay.

First we drove to Katoomba were the Three Sisters are. A formation out of stone where three of this formations are standing. Some time ago there were more than three of them but the weather and erosion have slowly destroyed the others. But the view is still breath taking. And next to the Three Sisters you can start a walk. We walked the steep stairs down and had a little hike around. Everything was so green.

The next day we wanted to walk the canyon walk. Which was insane. First you have to get down some wet stairs between some huge rocks. But when you are down in the canyon the walk is getting better and better. Along small rivers you always see little waterfalls comingn down steep cliffs. And because everything is so wet down there it’s so pretty in green.

Another stunning place at the Blue Mountains are the Wentworth Falls. It’s a giant waterfall with some little ones next to him. But we couldn’t see that much because of the surrounding clouds but the sound of it was so noisy and the smaller waterfalls were pretty enough.

We spend about three days hiking at the Blue Mountains and because of the rain we had barely dry clothes left. But the hikes were so pretty and I would love to come back again some day.

Sending some love,
